N.C. Cameron & Sons, Limited

logo.jpg (1989 bytes)Serving Canadians for over seventy years, N.C. Cameron & Sons, Limited is a leading distributor of ceramics, giftware and collectible figurines.

In 1927, Neil Campbell Cameron founded the United Profit Sharing Company in Toronto as a premium and incentive company. In the 1930s, when Cameron's sons joined the company, it was renamed N.C. Cameron & Sons, Limited.

In 1967 the company established a showroom in Montreal. In addition, sales agents were added to service Quebec and the Maritimes. Because of continued growth, the company moved to 60,000 square feet of warehouse and showroom space in the west end of the city. Furthermore, the Camerons had completely refocused their business to concentrate on the wholesale distribution of giftware and ceramics. With the opening of a Vancouver showroom in 1972, the company became truly national in character.

In 1987, the Camerons purchased property in nearby Mississauga and built a 100,000 square-foot facility with office, warehouse and showroom space.

The following year, the Camerons accepted an offer from Stanhome Inc. of Westfield, Massachusetts to purchase the company, allowing for full autonomy in the daily operations of the company while contributing its vast marketing power as a Fortune 500 global retailer of quality consumer products.

Distributing products to clients such as Hallmark stores, Carleton card stores, jewellery chains and major department stores, N.C. Cameron & Sons supplies both the popular Precious Moments figures and more exclusive lines for serious collectors. The company also provides collector clubs which offer collector information, limited figurines, newsletters, and — true to company heritage — a figurine premium as an annual gift to club patrons.

The first choice of Canadian retailers for giftware, collectibles and ceramics, N.C. Cameron & Sons, Limited is well positioned to continue its tradition of realizing increasing sales through a loyal and growing customer base in the future.
